"Covered in Spread" Week 14

(courtesy of 101tees.com)
(Note: While Rex is no longer a Bear, we both expect more of this Sunday)

After two weeks, our "Covered in Spread" contest is all tied up.  The score is one to one with 4 weeks left in the regular season, so this little bet is getting intense (we both want no part of Chili being poured on our heads).  So as always, we pick what lines we would bet in real life (we may or may not actually do this) and the person at the end of the week with the better overall record against the spread wins that week.  We do have a poll on the top of our page (or on the side depending on when you read this) so feel free to vote for what "spread" you would like to see the loser covered in.  So NFL fans, Gambling Fans, or Manchise Fans here is our official start to Week 14 in the NFL.

Thursday Night:

Pittsburgh Steelers (-10) at Cleveland Browns (+10):
Jonah- Pittsburgh has looked like garbage lately, especially against really bad teams.  On top of that , Cleveland actually looked like a football team this week.  I just can't bring myself to do it.  I'm taking the Steelers.

Jerry- Why do I want to take the Browns?  Why do I believe in Brady Quinn?  Why am I going to sacrifice my week before it even starts?  Because I'm an idiot.  I think the Browns can cover against a Pitt team that is suffering.

Sunday:

New Orleans Saints (-10) at Atlanta Falcons (+10):
Jonah- Atlanta has looked terrible lately.  I mean, really bad.  New Orleans didn't look so hot last week either, but I think it will serve as a wake up call.  Saints by a lot.

Jerry- I have to take Brees considering I just made a huge argument about how he should win the MVP.  Saints beat an unhealthy Falcons team.

Green Bay Packers (-3) at Chicago Bears (+3):
Jonah- Oh Jerry.  The Rams covered against the Bears last week (I'm a realist when it comes to my Rams and I still got a win with them last week) and I have to believe the Pack will too.

Jerry-Packers (Currently looking on ebay for a noose).

New York Jets (-3) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+3):
Jonah- No Sanchez, no problem.  Bucs are terrible, the Jets D isn't and neither is Thomas Jones.

Jerry- Defense, Defense, Defense wins this game.  All Jets, All day.

Miami Dolphins (+3) at Jacksonville Jaguars (-3):
Jonah- The Jags are really favored?  Did Vegas see the Dolphins beat the Pats last week?  I'm sticking with Ricky.

Jerry- I really like the Dolphins, and betting against the Jaguars has got to catch up eventually!

Detroit Lions (+13) at Baltimore Ravens (-13):
Jonah- I really don't like this line.  I think the Lions have a chance to keep this close, but I think Ray Rice bounces back this week (yeah, I NEED him to bounce back) and the Ravens win big.

Jerry- DC is starting for the Lions this weekend, so I'm thinking the Ravens Defense prospers.  Plus when you have Ray Rise against a bad Lions D, you have to like your odds.

Seattle Seahawks (+6) at Houston Texans (-6):
Jonah- Texans deactivated Slaton this week and the Seahawks have the potential to be a decent team.  I think they can cover.

Jerry- Will the Texans finally cover a game?  I think they can this week, hopefully.....

Denver Broncos (+7) at Indianapolis Colts (-7):
Jonah- I've said it before and I'll say it again, never bet against Peyton Manning.

Jerry- I feel like most of these games are obvious, so I'll keep to the trend.  I'll take the Colts to win this game by 7.

Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs (Pick 'em):
Jonah- Another one of those, "does someone really have to win this?" games.  I guess I'll take the Chiefs at home, but I'd rather stay away.

Jerry- Keep paying my Bills, Keep paying my telephone Bills, Keep my automobile Bills.

Cincinnati Bengals (+6.5) at Minnesota Vikings (-6.5):
Jonah- I'd like to stay away from this one too with the way the Vikings looked last week, but I just can't take Ochocinco over AD so I'm going Minnesota.

Jerry- I wouldn't bet this game in real life, but the Vikings should cover.

Carolina Panthers (+13.5) at New England Patriots (-13.5):
Jonah- They just keep coming.  I think I'd stay away here too.  The Pats don't look like the Pats and you have to like Carolina's running game, but I'll keep betting the Pats if I have to.

Jerry- Oh man, oh man, oh man.  What to do?  What to do?  Panthers?  Patriots?  Panthers?  Patriots?  This is the second game in a row that I wouldn't put any money on, but I'll take the Pats.

Washington Redskins (-1) at Oakland Raiders (+1):
Jonah- Wow, I'm actually taking the Skins.  They better remember some of what they did last week.

Jerry- The Raiders have beat really good teams, and the Redskins are so good at giving games away.

St. Louis Rams (+13) at Tennessee Titans (-13):
Jonah-  This line is a little high for my liking and just screams for me to take my Rams, but like I said, I'm a realist and I think Chris Johnson can outscore STL on his own.  Gimme the Titans.

Jerry- Titans get back on track this week. Look for Chris Johnson to shake those dreads a few times in the endzone.

San Diego Chargers (+3) at Dallas Cowboys (-3):
Jonah- The Boys are terrible in December.  While I don't think that's enough to put anything down on, this line and the way the Chargers are playing is.  Gimme San Diego.

Jerry- San Diego or the Whales Vaginas, Chargers keep the Cowboys slumpin' in December.

Philadelphia Eagles (+1) at New York Giants (-1):
Jonah- Both teams need it, but the Eagles will get it.

Jerry- I have this feeling that Brandon Jacobs and his giant body have himself a game against the Eagles.

Monday Night:
Arizona Cardinals (-3.5) at San Francisco 49ers (+3.5):
Jonah- Gotta get me some of those Larry Fitz hands.  Cards cruise.

Jerry- Cardinals roll right over the niners.  Week 14 you are mine!
